Novex Haircare Review
Hey babes! Sorry I have been not blogging consistently lately! My schedule has been crazy, but I promise I will get back into the routine! Today, I am going to do something I normally don't do and give you guys my take on a product I've recently been using for about a month now! I was blessed to have been sent this haircare set because my hair needed some more length and volume after cutting it soooo short last summer (yes, I regretted it so much!!) :( This haircare line I am reviewing is called Novex and it is made in Brazil. You can find this brand at your local CVS, Ulta, Sally Beauty, and Ricky's NYC if you live in the U.S. ! If you are from Canada, you can easily order it online and I'll have the link for you guys down below! They have many different collections under the Novex brand for different hair types and it is very easy and straightforward to select a line that is suitable for you! Since my hair was shorter than it was before and thin, I decided to try out the bamboo sprout collection which is for intense growth and strength. It contains vitamins A and B and is enriched with amino acids for frizz and split ends as well! I will break down the four different products in order in this collection and my review on each one of them down below:
1) Bamboo Sprout Shampoo (Step 1)- This shampoo actually smelt really good and the consistency of the actual product was not goopy at all which I enjoyed. It was a thin, light, texture and I loved that part about it because it doesn't feel like you are weighing down your hair with heavy product!
2) Bamboo Sprout Conditioner (Step 2)- I personally did not like this conditioner because it did not leave my hair as smooth as I wanted it too! It also did not get all the tangles out of my hair which for me, that is what I use conditioner for! Other than that, it still smelt great and was not thick in consistency.
3) Bamboo Sprout Hair Mask (Step 3)- On the instructions, it says that you have to leave this hair mask in for 15 minutes and that is the perfect amount of time ONLY if you use this product once or twice a week because even tho this product is included as part of one of the steps, I personally think you do not need to use this product every time you wash your hair! My hair never goes greasy right after I take a shower, however, I found that this product did make my hair really greasy right away which is definitely not what I was going for! After I changed my routine to only using this step once a week, it made a huge difference and no longer made my hair greasy! So overall, it was a product that nourished my hair, but you do not wanna overdo it !
4) Bamboo Sprout Leave In Conditioner (Step 4)- This product was my absolute favourite from the bamboo sprout line! I used it everyday and applied a pea-sized amount in my damp hair after I showered. I personally think that it did help my hair grow because it was definitely noticeable! This product also left my hair feeling smooth and silky, something I never thought would be possible with all of my split ends haha! Usually, I just let my hair dry naturally after applying this product which is fine to do, but I love that you can also have the option to blow dry your hair and I think it adds more volume to your hair and shine after the product has been used.
Overall, the bamboo sprout collection was easy and simple to use! After one month of use, my hair has noticeably grown and I am so surprised and pleased with the results. My hair also retrieved back the natural strength it had before I did all that damage to it! The line is affordable and if you are planning to only purchase one product I would totally go for the leave in conditioner from any of the collections that is suitable for your hair type because that product really worked for me and I hope it will for you! :)
xoxo,
Mel Chen
